New Series Celebrates Horseracing On Ice And Other Sports Lowlights

BRISTOL, Conn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Not all great sporting footage involves people who are great at sports.

That’s what twin comedians Randy and Jason Sklar have learned in three seasons of hosting Cheap Seats, their ESPN Classic show that has them cutting up over sports footage both wacky and weird.

Randy is especially fond of film footage of “horseracing on ice.” In his words, “Even though it’s on a mile-long lake, they still made it a circular track. Because, Lord knows, they want to make sure the horses have to make sharp turns on ice.”

Jason’s favorite is the film of basketball great Calvin Murphy performing in a baton-twirling championship.

But the brothers also enjoy the 1975 footage of California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in a bodybuilding championship.

Randy is especially impressed by “Ah-nuld’s” post-contest interview because “since 1975, his accent has gotten worse.”
