WTC Survivors Mark The Anniversary With Workshops

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The survivors of the World Trade Center attacks are getting a crash course in healing.

As the fourth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks approaches, a group called the World Trade Center Survivors’ Network is planning a week-long list of events starting Sept. 7 to help survivors cope.

On Sept. 7, the group will hold a Healing Creative Writing Workshop, which organizer co-chair Gerry Bogacz says is not necessarily a 9/11 workshop. He says the goal is to give exercises to budding writers in how to deal with their grief.

Meanwhile, on the eve of the anniversary the group will hold a remembrance barbecue and a ceremony at the World Trade Center site on Sept. 11.

Other events following the anniversary include a blood drive and volunteer events to help the homeless.

Sept. 11 mourners won’t be alone in their grief though. Bogacz says survivors of the Oklahoma City bombing have attended the previous anniversary events.
