Host of TV’s ‘My Kind Of Town’ A Small Town Guy Himself

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Even though ABC network’s My Kind of Town features several different small towns in America trying to win prizes, British radio personality Johnny Vaughan thinks he’s the perfect guy to host the show.

Vaughan jokes, “I’m from a small town – England.”

The My Kind of Town host calls the people in small towns the “unchanging, solid, kind of anchors” of a country, and thinks the show is a great way to celebrate them.

On this Sunday’s (Aug. 28) episode, Melissa Rivers joins the party in Hopedale, Massachusetts, as she shows up for the Grand Opening of one woman’s new septic tank.

Vaughan describes the scene as “everyone grouped ‘round a toilet for its inaugural flush in black tie attire like it was the Oscars.”

He says the 200 townmembers will also have a chance to win a prize like their own Vespa or flat-screen T.V., adding, “I remember the days when people used to go mad when they’d won a toaster!”

Although he loves all the towns that have been featured on the series, Vaughan says he’s not quite ready to move from his own home town, figuring, “It would be very hard to do my London radio show from Alabama.”
