Art Linkletter Insists Kids Haven’t Changed In 50 Years

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – More than 27,000 kids have said the darndest things to Art Linkletter and while they’ve said different things, he believes that children haven’t actually changed in 50 years.

In his words, “Kids between the ages of four to 10 are still the same. They don’t want to eat their oatmeal or would like to get rid of their little sister. It’s the teenagers that are different.”

Linkletter is taking advantage of the kiddie consistency by reissuing his 1957 best-seller, Kids Say The Darndest Things (Celestial Arts).

Amazingly, despite modern conveniences like the internet, videogames and cell phones, Linkletter didn’t have to change a single word.

The 93-year-old admits he didn’t always realize this. He originally thought the idea of interviewing kids would only appeal to adults. It was only after his book was released that he realized that kids loved it even more because they could imagine making the same comments themselves.
