Doggies Becoming ‘Dogis’

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If your neighbor’s dog seems noticeably chilled out these days, maybe that’s because it’s practicing “Doga” – dog yoga.

Yoga instructor Kari Harendorf credits her dog Charlie with inventing doggy yoga. She says when she brought the Husky mix to her classes, “He would literally mimic the poses we did.”

Harendorf and Charlie are stretching into TV with an Animal Planet Show dedicated to Doga called K9 Karma that premieres Monday (Aug. 15).

She calls the show a “Dr. Phil for people and pets” and says the show uses the yoga studio to focus on themes like “letting go,” “alignment” and “happiness.”

The canine instructor also promises plenty of “Downward Dog” poses, Ohms and licks and believes humans have a lot to learn from dogs about focusing on immediate issues, saying, “They’re the perfect ‘Dogis.’”
