1985 Bears Glorified In Corn Maze

SPRING GROVE, Ill. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An Illinois farm is celebrating the 20th anniversary of “Da Bears” Super Bowl win with a gigantic corn maze called – what else? – “Da Maze.”

The 25-acre corn maze at the Richardson Farm in the city of Spring Grove, Illinois celebrates the Chicago Bears’ Super Bowl victory in 1985 with a creative design of the team’s anniversary logo along with other football imagery cut through the corn stalks.

However, this crop circle-type design wasn’t created by aliens. Richardson Farm spokesperson Carol Richardson says they brought in a “maze designer,” who with help from an artist and a GPS device, tilled the homage to the 1985 Bears in one-and-a-half days.

Although she doesn’t know if any of the Bears from that year’s team will swing by the farm to take a gander, Richardson figures they would approve.

The corny maze, which features a nine-mile walking trail through the corn, opens to the public Aug. 6.
