PBS Series A Roadtrip to Debt?

OUTER BANKS, N.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A new PBS series called Roadtrip Nation is encouraging college kids to hit the road and follow their dreams – even if that means throwing away a $100,000 college education.

The show’s co-founder, Mike Marriner, knows all about the premise. He earned a B.S. in Biology/Pre-Med from Pepperdine in 2000, but changed his mind about becoming a doctor.

Instead, he went in search of his passion, traveling the country with two friends in a bright green RV interviewing successful Americans like the CEO of Dell Computers and retiring Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.

The self-proclaimed “professional road tripper” says that after four years in the RV and several “awesome” interviews, he’s still not sure what he wants to do with his life.

Even so, Marriner and friends have brought the “Behind the Wheel” RV program to over a hundred college campuses nationwide.

In the program, a handful of students travel along and hopefully gain insight from interviews with folks like Bill Clinton’s lawyer, Pat Croce and screamer Howard Dean.

Roadtrip Nation airs throughout the summer.
