Hitchhiker’s Guide To Aliens

IRVINGTON, N.Y. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Tom Cruise’s new flick, War Of The Worlds, focuses on martians but an upcoming book reveals alienating information about all sorts of E.T.s.

The Field Guide to Aliens (Hylas), which is scheduled for release in September, catalogs 160 varieties of aliens and includes useful data on their biology, what they eat, their natural environment and location in the galaxy.

However, these aliens are all examples from science fiction movies, including Claymen, Hawkmen, Star Wars’ Jedi Knights and, as co-author Dave Elliott says, “1950s aliens that look like giant apes with fish bowls on their heads.”

Elliott says it was tough finding some still shots of the fictional E.T.s from TV shows like The Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone because they’re not well catalogued.

War of the Worlds fans will also see the book covers aliens from three different movie versions – including Steven Spielberg’s – and numerous Martians, including the one from My Favorite Martian.
