Randy Jackson Idolizes Oreos

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Randy Jackson may be a judge on American Idol but, in real life, he idolizes Oreo cookies.

Jackson has been a big fan of the cookie since he was a kid and that’s why he’s helping Oreo executives find a new jingle via a nationwide contest.

Aspiring jingle junkies should put new music to the old “Oreo and milk” jingle – which begins A glass of milk and an Oreo cookie – and submit the song at by July 14.

The top 10 finalists will fly to Los Angeles in August to perform in a sing-off hosted by Jackson and the folks behind the top cookie composition will win $10,000 and record a radio commercial.

Jackson suggests wannabe jingle writers emphasize “bringing a different twist to the song” over musical perfection.

It looks like contestants are taking his words to heart because the songs submitted so far include R&B renditions, performances by church choirs and even one song featuring a ukulele.
