Wedding Etiquette Expert Takes Dim View Of Star Jones

RALEIGH, N.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A wedding etiquette expert in Raleigh, North Carolina, is taking a dim view of how Star Jones planned her wedding – and says it’s part of a disturbing trend.

Jeanne Hamilton says The View co-host set a dangerous precedent at her recent wedding by having the event sponsored by various vendors instead of paying for it.

Now, average people are having “sponsored weddings” where businesses donate their services in exchange for having their logos on display at the reception and their ads in the wedding program.

Hamilton considers a sponsored wedding to be the height of tackiness but says she gets reports of at least two a year “so someone’s agreeing to it.”

“Sponsorship” isn’t the only wedding faux pas that is on the rise. Hamilton says many couples are sending ungrateful thank-you notes to their guests that imply “Your gift didn’t cover the cost we spent on your dinner and drinks. Can you send another hundred bucks?”

Hamilton dishes on other wedding no-nos in a new book, Wedding Etiquette Hell: The Bride’s Bible To Avoiding Everlasting Damnation (Thomas Dunne Books).
