Adrienne Barbeau Finds Snakes Charming On ‘Carnivale’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Some actors refuse to work with animals but Carnivale star Adrienne Barbeau doesn’t mind. In fact, she finds snakes very charming.

Barbeau plays Ruthie the snake charmer on the HBO drama and spent a lot of advance time learning the ins and outs of snake dancing before her first day on the job.

Luckily, she had a good teacher. As she puts it, “Only in Los Angeles can you find someone who snake dances full time.”

Barbeau’s snake dancing instructor kept nine or 10 snakes in her bedroom and taught the actress that the key to dancing with the critters is “to let them lead.”

Although Barbeau’s experience with snakes was limited before signing on to Carnivale, she says she “has developed an affection for them.”

Barbeau is still big on Carnivale but her life is a three-ring circus. Her new indie film, A Wake In Providence, will be released April 15 and she is getting ready to play Judy Garland in a one-woman show later this year.
