The Average American Is A Bigger Fool Than Paris Hilton Or Ashlee Simpson

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Foolish behavior by average Joes and Janes has reached an all-time high in America.

That’s according to an annual index of foolishness in America conducted by pop culture pollster Jeff Barge in which 64 percent of Americans admit they’ve done something foolish recently – compared to just 53 percent who were fools last year.

Barge says the dumb hijinks have spiked considerably in the Desperate Housewives demographic: 35 to 45 year old affluent white people who live in the suburbs.

Sadly, the high rate of foolishness puts the average American above much-criticized celebrities like Paris Hilton and Ashlee Simpson – who received scores of 59 percent and 42 percent, respectively, on the index.

But some celebs take the cake when it comes to fooling around: The survey shows 80 percent of folks think Michael Jackson is a fool and 68 percent pick convicted wife-murderer Scott Peterson.
