‘E.R.’ Doc Examining Music Career

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It’s not unusual for actors to attempt musical careers but succeeding is another matter.

However, E.R. cast member Scott Grimes figures he’s going to break the mold with his new CD, Livin’ On The Run.

Grimes – who plays Dr. Archie Ross on the long-running NBC drama – says he’s different than other actor/ musicians because, as he puts it, “I started out as a musician and only turned to acting because nothing was available back then.”

He even recorded his first album back in 1989 but thinks his new CD benefits from his day job because acting helps him get in the mind of the characters he’s singing about.

Still, Grimes admits his musical training really comes in handy for acting because, as he puts it, “You have to look like you’re comfortable on a stage.”

Grimes is currently getting radio play for the CD’s first single, “Sunset Blvd,” and is hoping that carries over into a tour this summer.

In his words, “We’re ready to jump on a bus and go anywhere they want us – especially military bases.”
