Neuwirth says she nearly made it onto a jury for a hate crime case, but had to get the judge to excuse her from the case after she bumped into the defendant in the court hallway.
Neuwirth describes the defendant as a big huge strapping guy who was more physically capable of anyone Ive seen all day and says he strolled past her whistling the theme from The Godfather.
She says, Now if youre innocent and youre waiting a year to clear your good name of being accused of a hate crime, youre not going to do something as arrogant and obnoxious as whistle the theme to The Godfather past all these potential jurors. I just thought guilty, guilty, guilty.
Law & Order: Trial by Jury will preview on March 17 and 24 before premiering April 1 in its regular Friday night time slot on NBC.
