They Might Be Giants ARE Doing Alphabetical Album

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The members of They Might Be Giants have been following their muses for 20 years – but now they’re doing things to the letter. All 26 of them.

The duo has just released a new DVD, Here Come The ABCs, that features tunes dedicated to the alphabet.

One song, “The Alphabet Of Nations,” features a country for almost every letter and manages to rhyme Suriname with Vietnam.

Another song asks the musical question, “Who Put The Alphabet In Alphabetical Order?”

TMBG co-leader John Flansburgh admits writing songs about the ABC’s wasn’t exactly “E-Z” but feels the tunes still came out letter-perfect.

Some songs were particularly easy because, as he points out, “they’re basically reciting the alphabet.”

They Might Be Giants is considering promoting the kid-friendly recording with some gigs but Flansburgh admits that won’t be easy because “many of the places we play have broken glass on the floor.”
