Bernhard has just signed on to play a no-nonsense detective, Roz Framus, at the request of Hennessy, her longtime friend.
Hennessy says she thought Bernhard would be good for the show because, as she puts it, She knows how to stay calm in tense situations.
For her part, Bernhard enjoys playing detective more than her last NBC guest role, when she played an attorney on Law & Order. In her words, I dont like playing lawyers because theyre too passive.
Bernhards first appearance is Feb. 13 and shes signed on for two more shows and Hennessy suggests there could be more developing between the characters because she wants the Crossing Jordan writers to create a love triangle between them and co-star Jerry OConnell.
In addition, Bernhard hopes to duet with Hennessy in real life: She plans to start a concert tour soon and says her pal can join her on stage any time she wants.
