Buffalo Wing Eaters Waiting To See If Indianapolis Will Rule The Roost

MINNEAPOLIS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The U.S. will be literally having a wing ding on Super Bowl Sunday, and one restaurant will be tracking it.

For the second year in a row, Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants, with its headquarters in Minneapolis, will throw its Wing Bowl – where workers keep track of all the buffalo wings eaten in their restaurants during the Super Bowl.

Company spokeswoman Kathy Benning says the chain sells about 5.5 million wings in a week, but during last year’s Super Bowl, they sold 2.4 million in one day alone.

Ironically, the city of Buffalo, where the wings were created, did not take the cake for per capita consumption: Indianapolis did.

Benning believes that more wings will be sold at this year’s Wing Bowl than last, but she’s holding her breath to see if Indianapolis will keep its title or not.
