LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – American Idol alum Katharine McPhee may be funny, but it’s not on purpose.The brunette beauty will guest star on NBC’s Community next Thursday (Mar. 11), but admits her onscreen comedic timing often happens by accident.
Though she’s been acting all her life, McPhee never thought she’d be tackling comedy on TV or in flicks like The House Bunny.
In fact, the singer has always seen herself doing “light dramatic stuff” or playing straight-laced types of characters.
Still, she’s happy to flex her funny bone onscreen because she looks up to humorous actresses like Goldie Hawn.
While she may be able deliver the laughs on camera, McPhee does not, by any stretch, consider herself a comedian.
She confesses, “If you gave me a mic and asked me to do a stand-up routine, it would be the worst thing you’ve ever seen.”
