Groundhog Texts His Winter Prediction
Friday, January 29, 2010 17:11 GMTHARRISBURG, Pa. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) This Groundhog Day (Feb. 2), one famous critter is making his winters prediction in 21st century fashion.
Punxsutawney Phil, a groundhog whos emerged from a tree in Pennsylvania in search of his shadow for the past 124 years, has gone modern.
Hell be text messaging whether he finds his shadow a sign of how long winter will last to more than 16,000 people whove signed up to hear the big news, even if he doesnt have opposable thumbs.
Spokesperson Mickey Rowley says, Despite his furry, wet paws, everyone will get a text from Phil. Well help him if he needs it.
Rowley assures that its not laziness keeping Phil from announcing his prediction the old-fashioned way.
The groundhog is merely just in with the times and trying to reach as many people as possible.
Despite his move to modern technology, Rowley says Phil wont be using LOLs or other hip text talk in his message.
