Costume Ball Is A Trip

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Dust off your top hats, velvet gowns, and steam engines because it’s time to dance back in time.

The 10th Annual Edwardian Ball is coming to San Francisco’s Regency Ballroom this weekend (Jan. 22-23), and it’ll be a darkly decadent costume extravaganza.

Attendees are encouraged to wear their finest Edwardian attire – which many work on for months prior – but co-producer Justin Katz assures that no one will be turned away for leaving their top hat and monocle at home.

He adds, “We don’t check if you have a Victorian collar, sometimes to the frustration of Dickens era purists who completely get into character.”

Katz says the event is like “stepping into different world and time.”

However, the fact that some dress up in odd costumes, like an Edward Gorey preying mantis, reminds attendees that they really are in the year 2010.

Someone randomly stumbling in, however, might have a mild freak out.
