Private Practice star Chris Lowell vowed to “climb every mountain” – literally – in 2009 when he and his friends decided to scale Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
Although the experience was life-changing, Lowell will be staying at sea level in 2010 and beyond.
He says the Kilimanjaro climb was “more challenging” than he expected. The little exercise and running he did in preparation didn’t help much once he was on the massive mountain.
His group also bought the wrong type of sleeping bags and had to stay close together at night to avoid freezing.
As Lowell puts it, “We definitely underestimated the cold. Our sleeping bags didn’t do much!”
His resolution for 2010 is to “avoid week-long mountain camping trips” and focus on his acting career.
