Celebrity hairstylist Billy Lowe considers hair an investment thatll yield high returns even in a recession.
He argues that hair is the first thing people notice, so if its unkempt, its hard to take someone seriously.
If someones hair looks great, they feel great, despite whats happening around them.
For this reason, Lowe urges folks to avoid skimping on their cuts and colors, despite tough times.
He says there are other ways to save at the salon, including taking advantage of salon referral programs, shopping for value sets of hair products, and booking appointments in advance.
And salons are really lathering it on to keep customers coming.
Lowe, for instance, writes personalized Thank You notes to clients, puts extra TLC into scalp massages, and plays therapist to patrons for just a few minutes longer these days.
