Minneapolis Man Rates Restrooms

MINNEAPOLIS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A man in Minneapolis has one crappy hobby – he rates public bathrooms.

Jon Thompson runs, a database of public restroom reviews submitted from around the world.

Thompson himself has inspected about 400 bathrooms and ranks them on cleanliness, smell, style, ambience, and “overall experience.”

He believes visiting a public potty should be “memorable,” and applauds bathrooms that boast special touches like plants, art, or custom tiles.

He says restaurant restrooms usually nail the design and lighting, while mom ’n’ pop shops get high marks for homemade nuances like hand-embroidered signs.

But not all pots are pretty.

Thompson has walked into a bathroom that was so stinky, he had to take a break mid-ranking to get fresh air. He’s now able to hold his breath like a pro for those types of encounters.

His biggest pet peeves are overflowing trash cans and sticky floors, but he does enjoy efficient hand dryers.
