Mustaches vs. Cancer is an organization thats holding a two-month mustache-a-thon where men grow out their staches from now until November 29, asking for sponsorships to benefit the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Creator Stefan Turkula says the face fuzz event is a fun and easy way for young people to help, and takes it upon himself to manhandle whiny participants who consider shaving off their facial hair before its over.
He says, It can get uncomfortable having a mustache, but we discourage people from shaving through peer pressure.
Turkula lets growers know that if theyre bringing in money, they can deal with discomfort because having a stache isnt as uncomfortable as having Cancer.
The person who raises the most cash gets a custom bobblehead of themselves with their Cancer-battling mustache.
