‘Glee’ Actor Writes Own Music

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Working on the TV series, Glee, sure gives a guy musical inspiration.

Just ask Mark Salling, who plays bullying high school jock Puck on Glee, airing Wednesdays on FOX.

Salling is a singer/songwriter in real life and has already gotten tons of ideas for new ditties from starring on Glee.

He’s penned an alternate theme song for the show, jams to coincide with storylines, and even made a music video with his co-stars thanking producers for giving them the gig.

As for onscreen singing, Salling has gotten to belt out Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” which made his mom happy since it’s her favorite song.

Though he plays “mellow” music himself, Salling is a big fan of heavy metal rockers Pantera.

But while Glee features all kinds of music – including rap songs-turned-gleeful – he doesn’t foresee the TV choir tackling Pantera in any episodes.
