‘Psych’ Actor Fakes It With Women

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When it comes to wooing a woman, pretending to be someone else is pure gold.

Actor James Roday stars on the USA Network’s comedy Psych, where he plays a cop who feigns psychic ability.

The role isn’t the first time he’s faked who he is to get ahead.

Roday recalls a time in college when he pretended to be a professional tennis player while hitting on a girl.

He says, “She was like, ‘I’ve never heard of you.’ I told her I was working my way up the ranks and that I wasn’t in the top 100 in the rankings yet. I just kept thinking, ‘Wow, I can’t believe I’m doing this.’ What started as a pickup line became me making up an entire life.”

Roday admits that his fib worked like a charm on the unassuming girl, but admits it was “a lot of work.”

The fourth season of Psych premieres this Friday (Aug. 7) on USA.
