‘Ren & Stimpy’: Tame TV?

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – According to famed cartoonist John Kricfalusi, The Ren & Stimpy Show can be labeled tame TV.

Kricfalusi’s rude and crude cartoon about a chihuahua and cat aired on Nickelodeon in the early ’90s and though it was deemed risque for the times, in this day and age, Ren & Stimpy look like angels.

Kricfalusi says the show is “tame” compared to the stuff kids watch on the boob tube today and argues, “Now Ren & Stimpy seems like a Christian TV show!”

Despite that, the cartoon is still popular among fans who say it changed their childhood.

Kricfalusi often hears fans say Stimpy’s signature line, “You idiot,” which was never meant to be a catchphrase but somehow caught on.

He’s currently developing new cartoons and has a line of toys inspired by Ren & Stimpy characters like George Liquor.

He’s also made figurines of Barack Obama, John McCain, and Hillary Clinton – who happens to have a huge butt.
