That’s because they’ll be munching on deep fried bull balls at the annual Testicle Festival, coming to town this Wednesday (Jul. 29) through Sunday (Aug. 2).
Attendees will snack on the Rocky Mountain oysters, as they’re often called, which festival organizer Nel-Lani Powers says come sliced, breaded, fried, and taste just like chicken.
She assures the bull’s jewels are delicious, which makes it easier for people to “cram them in their mouths” during the testicle eating contest.
Though some get squeamish about wrapping their lips around a set of nuts, Powers says it’s like eating chicken breasts and it’s purely a “mental thing” that freaks people out.
Those who are grossed out by fried gonads shouldn’t complain, since true ranchers go balls out when they eat them.
Apparently, cattle ranchers in Montana are known to slice the balls right off a calf and eat them raw.
