Poker Loss Churns Stomach

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Losing a poker game is enough to make any card shark sick.

Oliver Ali Nejad is the announcer for Face The Ace, a new poker game show premiering August 1 on NBC.

Nejad – an ace in the poker world himself – says a loss at the table is tough to take, especially on the stomach.

He recalls his share of “six-figure losses” during a time when playing online poker was his sole source of income, and adds, “I know what it’s like to want to throw up right after poker.”

On Face The Ace, Nejad relives the nausea all over again watching amateurs compete against bonafide pros.

Contestants are under intense pressure from the lights and cameras and are starstruck playing against their poker idols.

Since the pros clearly have the edge, Nejad encourages contestants to do anything to stay afloat including bluffing, smack talking, or wearing sunglasses or a “hockey mask.”
