Website Ridicules The World

BIYSK, Russia (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Photoshop is a great tool to instantly ridicule current events.

FreakingNews.com is a website that holds daily Photoshop contests where folks can add their own spin to pictures of current news, world events, politics, and celebrity culture.

The Photoshop satire of what’s hot in the news includes pictures mocking President Barack Obama, ditzy celebs like Paris Hilton, and the war in Iraq.

Site founder Vlad Golunov says the altered pics unite people all over the world because ridiculing celebs and politicos is “too much fun.”

Smart alecks who contribute to the site can pocket extra cash from their snarky photos, which earn $1-$5 if users enjoy them the most.

Golunov admits it’s no way to make a real living, but it is an easy way to “buy yourself some fun” and get original work out on the Internet for all to see.

A few Photoshop dynamos have even been contracted by major companies for graphic design work based on their silly Photoshopped pictures on the site.
