Oleynik – best known for her role as telekinetic teen Alex Mack on the ’90s Nickelodeon show The Secret World of Alex Mack – admits she likes to “geek out” on Star Trek, but her all-time favorite sci-fi masterpiece is the teen alien sitcom Out Of This World.
Oleynik loved the show so much growing up, she dreamt about freezing time like the main character, who’s half human, half alien.
She explains, “I always thought freezing time would be a really cool super power to have. It would’ve helped me in school while taking tests because I’m a slow poke at everything I do!”
Oleynik could also use the time freezing power to catch up on the latest technological trends.
She’s not exactly up to speed and admits she doesn’t have cable, doesn’t own an iPod, and just bought a DVD player two years ago.
She laughs, “I’m about five years behind everyone else!”
