In 1989, Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett bought a pristine Porsche 911 C4.
In 1991, Hammett made a bet with tour manager Tony Smith that if the band sold 10 million copies of their iconic Black Album, hed give Smith his beloved Porsche.
When the CD was certified 10x platinum, Hammett followed through and handed over the pink slip to Smith, whos kept the ride in mint condition over the years.
Now the infamous Porsche is up for auction on eBay through May 31.
Though the starting bid is $27,000, eBay pop culture expert Karen Bard says the backstory alone makes the car worth big bucks.
Since the car served a big purpose its more personal than vehicles only driven by celebrities a couple times.
It comes with rare Metallica memorabilia like a gas receipt signed by Hammett, authentic tour passes, and signed photos.
