‘Techfluenza’ Claims More Victims Than Swine Flu

ATLANTA (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – People shouldn’t fret about the swine flu when there’s a far more serious ailment wreaking havoc on the world.

Dr. Kathleen Hall of The Stress Institute in Atlanta is warning people of a bug spreading throughout the world – “Techfluenza,” a contagious, stress-related illness that stems from addiction to technology.

Unlike the H1N1 virus, which has only affected a couple hundred people, Dr. Hall says Techfluenza is truly a pandemic that has claimed millions of victims and affects their health, work, and personal lives.

The primary signs of infection are spending way too much time online instead of outdoors and being chained to your iPhone, Blackberry, or cell phone at all times.

Though it’s hard to treat since people need technology to get by, Dr. Hall recommends creating boundaries for use.

She says only using a Blackberry or iPhone while in line at the post office and turning off the phone in the evening can save someone from the addiction.
