Unemployment Parties Are All The Rage

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Unemployment parties may be all the rage these days, just don’t rage too hard while mingling.

That’s the advice of Jason Rivera, creator of slipsquad.com, a brand new social networking site for those who are unemployed or at risk of getting a pink slip.

The site features career-building tips and updates on “pink slip parties” in different cities, which are casual, networking mixers where jobless folks mingle and get leads on potential job opportunities.

Rivera says pink slip parties are becoming increasingly popular and are a fun, casual way to help people find their dream job without having to go to a stuffy job fair.

While the parties are about being casual and making connections with recruiters, Rivera suggests keeping the cocktails in check, since, “You don’t want to be drunk while networking.”

Rivera hopes the party postings and other resources on his site make it the No. 1 forum for the unemployed and a place where employers come to search for talent.
