‘Phineas And Ferb’ Songs Recorded In Wacky Ways

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The clever tunes on the animated series Phineas and Ferb are recorded in the weirdest ways.

Series creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh admit that their catchy ditties require a very low-tech production process.

For a while, the duo would come up with tunes and sing them into their composer’s answering machine, but Marsh notes, “We went through all of his message tapes!”

Other times, Povenmire and Marsh jam in their office with their guitars or drum up songs while driving.

Povenmire was in a band for 20 years back in the day and says the harmony to the Phineas And Ferb theme song was born while rocking out with his crew.

He believes songs are essential to their quirky series because, “Music is the quickest way to immortality. I still remember songs from The Archies even if I don’t remember the plotlines.”

Marsh says his favorite tunes are those that go completely against what’s happening on screen, like a “gangsta rap song about a spa day.”

New episodes of Phineas And Ferb air this month on Disney XD.
