Texas-based chef Jon Bonnell says a party hardy St. Paddys starts with getting your dinner drunk first.
Chef Bonnell says there are tons of ways to incorporate alcohol into meals, which is a more grown-up, refined way to booze on the Irish holiday.
Bonnell has a recipe for Corn Beef with Irish Whiskey Sauce that puts a twist on the traditional dish by adding Irish Whiskey to the beefs salty brine.
Another liquored up dish is Bonnells Vodka Gazpacho a cold veggie soup thats topped off with a thin layer of frozen vodka.
Bonnell says the vodka brightens up the flavors of the vegetables and could even give you a little buzz since the alcohol isnt cooked off like in most hot dishes.
He believes alcohol is a versatile cooking ingredient that automatically gets people excited about their dinner.
