Megan Mullally Knows Rejection

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Even Emmy-winning Megan Mullally has felt the pain of rejection.

Landing roles wasn’t always easy for the former Will & Grace actress, who stars on the upcoming ABC comedy In the Motherhood, premiering March 26.

Mullally recalls the worst audition she’s ever been on, which was for the part of Maria in a Broadway revival of The Sound of Music.

Though she didn’t think she was fit for the part, Mullally took a chance and tried out anyway.

She says, “There was a crazy amount of audition material. I learned three songs, four scenes. I worked my a off.”

Midway through her rendition of “Climb Every Mountain,” Mullally was cut short by a casting director.

Mullally describes, “I left the room, shut the door, and the entire room of people burst out laughing, like hysterical derisive laughter. I was crying and crying.”

The now “tough-as-nails” starlet chalks it up to being “young and tender,” and assures that she won’t get her feelings hurt like that again if she can help it.
