Obama Takes Oath As A Blockhead

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Brace yourselves, America, President-elect Barack Obama will be a real blockhead at today’s (Jan. 20) inauguration.

While many Inauguration Day events take place across the nation, LEGOLAND in California will pay homage to Obama’s historic day by unveiling a recreation of the inauguration ceremony made entirely out of LEGO blocks.

The scene depicts a LEGO Obama taking his presidential oath in Washington, D.C., alongside LEGO versions of Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden, President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush.

More than 1,000 mini citizen figures will be looking on as the prez takes power, along with LEGO media, secret service, and even a LEGO version of Oprah Winfrey.

The display – which is up through May 25, 2009 – even includes porta-potties to make the scene look as realistic as possible.

About 20 master LEGO builders created the display in hopes of teaching kids about the important day in history.
