According to stress expert Dr. Kathleen Hall, January 19 has been found to be the most depressing day of 2009 based on a mathematical algorithm calculated by a British researcher.
Apparently, what makes today such a sad day is a combination of low light levels, bad weather, broken New Years resolutions, low motivation, and this being a time when holiday bills start stacking up.
Add on Seasonal Affective Disorder and the crumbling economy, and Hall says youre set to be a miserable mess.
She says, People will feel depressed. They may eat too much or stop eating. Theyll stay in bed and say negative things about themselves. It could even lead to suicide.
Before you hang that noose, Hall recommends listening to music, planning a lunch with friends, going out to the park or a museum, and eating fish and salad to boost your mood.
