The beloved American sitcom is being turned into a Russian version called Everybody Loves Kostya, with the same familiar storylines.
ELR creator Phil Rosenthal is flattered that his sitcom is getting Russia-fied and says itll look just like the American version only with a few slight changes.
For instance, instead of living in a house, Russian Raymond and his wife will live in an apartment, which is more common in Moscow.
Rays overbearing parents will also live in an apartment across the hallway from him and even share a fire escape with their son.
Rosenthal laughs, In some ways, the Russian version of the parents will be even more intrusive!
Rosenthal helped producers cast for the overseas sitcom and is happy to report that the Russian version of Rays mother, Marie, is a dead-ringer for American ELR actress Doris Roberts.
Hes currently working on a documentary that follows the making of Everybody Loves Kostya.
