Weird Discoveries Keep Blogger Grounded

OAKLAND, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One blogger in Oakland, California, is staying grounded by looking at the ground.

Ayah Young runs constantlygrounded.com, a website featuring pictures of weird things she finds on the ground while walking.

Young began her project a few years ago after finding a giant, five-foot, taxidermy elk head “just chillin’ on the sidewalk,” which made her wonder what other crazy things were scattered on streets.

Since then, she’s come across random things on the ground like hair extensions surrounded by rice and peas, and a full living room set complete with a recliner, busted-up TV, and lamp.

Young says scoping out the ground has made her more aware and appreciative of her surroundings.

She enjoys finding “normal objects, completely out of context” and imagining how they got there, though she’s never kept anything she’s found.

Her favorite discoveries are inspirational street stencils with messages like, “You Go Girl!”

She’s received photo submissions from folks as far as London, the Philippines, and the Netherlands who have also found treasures on the ground.
