Santa Terrorizes Children

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Not all Santas are merry and jolly.

The thought of meeting Santa Claus at the mall sends many kiddies into a panic, and Nancy Watkins, co-author of the book, Scared of Santa: Scenes of Terror in Toyland (Harper), understands why.

The book is a collection of photos of horrified children being obviously traumatized by Santa, and Watkins says kids have a reason to be scared.

She explains, “When you’re a little kid and you’re told to never talk to strangers, then you’re shoved onto some guy’s lap who’s wearing a freakish costume, of course you’d be scared.”

Watkins blames some St. Nicks for freaking kids out, because many are terrifying beings.

She says, “We’ve seen pictures of Santas that look dead, look like winos off the street, or look totally freakish with white face and red cheeks. They look like they’re gonna carry kids away and eat them!”

Watkins says one submission is of a Santa who would actually beat children with a razor strap if they were naughty that year.
