Thats the idea behind Alan McArthurs book, Is it Me or is Everything Shþt?: Insanely Annoying Modern Things (Grand Central), which lists all the things in the world that drive him mad.
Among the things that piss McArthur off are Bratz Dolls, which he calls little plastic whores, Che Guevara merchandise, DVDs with ads you cant skip past, and Blackberries, which enable people to work on the toilet.
He says, There are lots of things that bother me. [My co-author and I] thought, Its time someone pointed them out, and then decided that someone should be us.
McArthur says the world has become more annoying than ever because the mass consumer culture wants more and more stuff to buy.
He says, If the world didnt buy so much crap, it would be a much better place.
Is It Me? hits shelves tomorrow (Nov. 12).
