With thousands of people losing their jobs as a result of the economic crisis, career expert Susan Morem says the one thing that can save you from bankruptcy is a nice suit.
She says, People have been slacking off with their work looks. In an interview, if someone is looking spiffy and you come in too casual, it gives a bad impression.
Morem subscribes to the old saying that you should dress for the job you want, not the one you have, and thinks everyone looking for a new or better gig should have a nice suit on hand.
She explains, Anytime you add a blazer or a jacket to your look, it ups your professionalism. You dont know how many people youre competing against, so you have to look good.
To get an idea of what you should be wearing on an interview and in the office, Morem says to emulate the conservative style of TV news anchors.
