Farewell, Mr. Blackwell

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Famed fashion guru Mr. Blackwell is in a better place now, and he’ll never have to see hideous Hollywood styles ever again.

This past Sunday (Oct. 19), the 86-year-old man who’s been pointing out Hollywood’s tackiest fashion flops since 1960 died in Los Angeles.

Over the years, Mr. Blackwell was never afraid to voice his acid-tongued fashion opinions.

Back in 2000, he told FlashNews that he couldn’t stand the way Jennifer Lopez dressed for high-profile events because she exuded the attitude of, “To hell with the show, look at me.”

In 2002, Mr. Blackwell revealed his love of ascots to FlashNews. He hoped the old school neck accessory would make a comeback with the help of Freddie Prinze Jr. and Mike Myers, who sported ascots in their 2002 films Scooby-Doo and Austin Powers: Goldmember.

In 2006, Mr. Blackwell called out Britney Spears for her “Toxic” fashion sense, as well as Mary-Kate Olsen for being “depressingly decayed.”

Finally, in 2007, Mr. Blackwell told FlashNews that Paris Hilton and Britney Spears were completely “style-free and fashion-deprived.”
