Speeders Driven To Tell Judge Tall Tales

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One tough judge sure knows how to deal with having an elephant in the room – literally!

Chief Magistrate Brenda Di Ioia rules the courtroom in Speeders Fights Back, a show that details the far-fetched and hilarious things people say in court to get out of a ticket.

Di Ioia is tough but fair, and will do anything she can to make people feel comfortable in her courtroom.

One time, a guy requested that she hold his “lucky elephant” figurine in her hand while she gave her ruling and she obliged.

Di Ioia recalls, “I still found him guilty, elephant and all!”

When it comes to weaseling out of a ticket, she’s heard every excuse in the book, including one from a speeding cab driver who claimed his passenger could testify about his speedometer, only the passenger was blind.

Another time, a guilty dude claimed the only reason a cop pulled him over was because he had a mohawk.

Speeders Fight Back premieres today (Oct. 16) on truTV.
