Amy Ryan Dreams Small, Moves To ‘The Office’

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actress Amy Ryan used her Oscar nomination to make it big – on network television.

Ryan – who earned an Academy Award nom last year for her supporting role in Gone Baby Gone – says her Oscar buzz opened doors she never thought possible.

She says, “When I got nominated, and my agent asked what I wanted to do next, the one job I wanted that I didn’t think I could get was to be on The Office. I love The Office!

Ryan’s dream came true, and she now stars on the comedy as human resources rep Holly Flax.

Though Ryan admits those who wanted her to do “bigger things” thought she was “crazy” for taking the job, she’s loved every minute of it.

She says, “You come to work and you’re guaranteed hours of laughter. It’s great!”

But the giggle fests can be tough to hide on camera.

Ryan explains, “I try to hide behind my hair but my shoulders start convulsing. Make-up has to fix me up all the time.”

Season five of The Office premieres September 25 on NBC.
