You Can Judge NYPD Detectives By Their Cover

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It’s easy to judge an NYPD detective by their cover.

According to Rick Tirelli, a detective and producer for the upcoming reality show Watching the Detectives, which premieres on the BIO Channel on Sunday (Sep. 7), you can tell what beat NYPD gumshoes are working by their outfit.

For instance, Tirelli says cops working in south Manhattan are “the cream of the crop,” solving crimes in fashionable suits, with “their shoes polished and sleeves pressed.”

Tirelli explains, “They’re not jumping over bodies as often over there, so they can look that way.”

Officers working the beat in north Brooklyn are too busy dealing with higher crime rates than their clothes.

Tirelli says, “I’m not saying they dress terrible, but they’re not gonna go out and spend money on a nice suit.”

Despite the wardrobe differences, Tirelli says a detective in either a stylin’ or sad-looking suit “gets the best results” because they work equally hard.
