Air Guitarists Rock So Hard It Hurts

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Shredding on an air guitar can send you rockin’ and rollin’ into the emergency room.

Rockers will have to watch their stage moves during the US Air Guitar Championships this Friday (Aug. 8) in San Francisco or else they’ll end up on a stretcher.

This year alone, touring air guitarists have broken bones, lacerated their heads, and even had a toe amputated after rocking too hard on stage.

Former air guitar champ Hot Lixx Hulahan says, “Everyone’s doing crazy stuff on the stage, and they’re paying the physical consequence for it. It does make for a good show though.”

Most injuries occur when a performer jumps off a speaker or attempts a stage dive, which leaves pretend rockers flat on their faces.

Hulahan explains, “Instead of catching them, the crowd will part like the Red Sea and people just hit the floor.”

Though the pain of a broken limb and bruised ego is crushing, Hulahan says injured air rockers gain street cred and respect.
