Taylor Hicks Is “Greasing” Up For Fourth Of July

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – American Idol star Taylor Hicks is “greasing” up for a fantastic Fourth of July.

Hicks – American Idol’s season five champ – is performing at A Capitol Fourth, a patriotic party taking place live on the lawn of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., on Independence Day (Jul. 4).

Hicks remembers celebrating July 4 as a kid with barbecues, boat rides, and bottle rockets, and this year, he’ll be especially prepared to take a “greasy” bite out of the bash.

Last month, Hicks began his role as Teen Angel in the Broadway production of Grease, which ends September 7.

With the Fourth of July festivities squeezed around his Broadway role, Hicks feels especially patriotic to the people that propelled him to stardom.

He says, “I’m a prime example of the American dream!”

A Capitol Fourth airs Friday (Jul. 4) on PBS. For more info, check out pbs.com/capitolfourth.
